Our Seed Story

Since our beginnings as the country's first seed library, Hudson Valley Seed Co. has become a beloved supplier of heirloom and open-pollinated seeds and beautiful garden-themed contemporary art.  As farmers, we steward a wide range of vegetable and flower crops to produce Certified Organic, non-GMO seed for hard-to-find varieties. As storytellers, we work closely with artists from diverse backgrounds to honor the rich history and unique attributes of every variety we share. We believe that a seed is more than meets the eye: it is a time capsule telling tales of the plants, crops, and people that came before us, and we strive to pass those stories down to present and future gardeners.
